

OCR National Award in ICT (level 2)
This course is designed to enable you to:
Develop ICT skills which are essential for success in employment and education
Is it for me?
The course leads to a qualification equivalent to two GCSEs and is suited to anyone without an existing level 2 ICT qualification. OCR Nationals engage and inspire students of all abilities to achieve. Everything is based on coursework - there are no exams. You will study five units covering most of the modern workplace's requirements for ICT skills.
What’s involved?
ICT in Business
In this unit you will be working on a variety of documents, like business letters, memos, spreadsheets and databases. You will learn the basic skills to be effective in the workplace.
Creating Computer Graphics
You move on to designing interactive features which you can use on a website - this includes web graphics such as menus and clickable buttons.
Digital Imaging
You will look at the way we can import images from a variety of sources and change them to suit different purposes, through combining images and superimposing text.
Wepage Creation
You will build a multipage website which incorporates all the previous work and develops skills in using up-to-date web design techniques.
Design and Produce Multimedia Products
This unit helps you to develop planning skills which could be used to develop a training package or a simple game.
Entry Requirements:
5 GCSEs at grade E or above.
Which courses go well with this?
Can be combined with other courses as part of a GCSE resit programme.
Progression:
Success in this course will allow you access to some level 3 courses and will give you the skills you need to be competent in the workplace.
