Small group sizes mean that you will be well supported by staff and you’ll have good access to equipment and studio spaces.

The lecturers have a wide range of commercial experience which informs the delivery and design of this course.

 

There is a dedicated recording studio space for the sole use of Higher Level Music Production students. There is also a dedicated Higher Education Music Production Mac suite. All Music Production Macs run Logic Pro 9 and Pro Tools 10.

The HND is a full-time course taken over two years. This qualification is coursework-based. Assessment is continuous throughout the course with detailed feedback to help you refine your skills. All students are expected to undertake independent study in their own time.

The HND Music Production opens doors to a range of careers in the music industry, such as work in audio engineering and music production, television/film/game sound, subject journalism and specialist retail. Former students have gained employment in broadcast media, started an independent studio and worked successfully as freelance engineers and producers.

 

Many HND students choose to 'top-up' their HND to a full B.A./B.A. (Hons.) by continuing their studies at university. New College Telford currently has formal links with the University of Wolverhampton and Staffordshire University which allow successful HND students to attain a degree with a further 12 months of study at either of those institutions.
