This course is designed to enable you to:

Be able to lead small groups of people independently in sport and recreational activities within community settings

Is it for me?

You do not need to be very good at sport - but do need to be keen and enthusiastic to take part and lead others. You do not need any prior experience and your leadership skills will be developed throughout the course.  Gain a respected qualification - The Sports Leaders Award in Community Sports Leadership

What’s involved?

This is a very active course and you will be doing sporting activities while developing your skills. The skills developed included organisation, planning, communication, leadership and teamwork.

Entry Requirements:

No entry requirements but the Level 1 award in Sports Leadership would be helpful.  You do need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have self-control. Being willing to take part in activities and lead activities is essential.

Which courses go well with this?

This is a great small course which would go well with any level 3 programmes. It also goes well with A Level PE and BTEC Level 3 Sports/Outdoor Adventure.

Progression:

Higher Sports Leaders Award is a natural progression.
