Stunning New College Christmas Dance Performance
Categories: Press Releases
Students from Advanced Level courses in Performing Arts and Dance performed in the shows. Technical Theatre students provided the support to run them, while Creative Arts Management students ran the box office and front of house.
Helen Smith, Course Teacher for Dance said “We’ve been very pleased with the students’ performances both on stage and off the stage. These sell-out shows have given students a chance to perform live in front of a real audience – in many cases for the very first time.”
Helen continued: “It was good to see our students’ family and friends in the audience. And a lot of our ex-students came back in to see the show from the specialist performance and dance colleges that they have gone on to. These performances are part of the essential course work for students and the audiences responded brilliantly.”
April Gillies, who is studying Advanced Level Performing Arts, Dance, Acting and Photography at New College said: “I was really nervous before the show, we’d done a lot of work and rehearsed but it was really magical how it all came together on stage on the night. The audience really loved it and the way they responded made it even better.”
Michelle Bishop who was in the audience on Thursday evening said: “It was a fantastic night, amazingly professional and through the whole show the performances were absolutely stunning.”
