On Friday 26th August 2011 this year’s winners attended a meeting of the Rotary Club to meet the members and to thank the club for the awards.
The winners this year were Stephanie Rippon from New College who was awarded £500, Dagmar Birnbaum of Blessed Robert Johnson school who was awarded £400 and Santana Zawarska of New College who was awarded £100. All of the girls intend to spend the awards on laptop computers or specialist software which will help them in their studies.
Their chosen courses of study are very different… Stephanie is about to study BioChemistry at Warwick University, Dagmar is to study at the Northern School of Dance in Leeds, whilst Santana is about to begin a BSc in Food and Human Nutrition at Newcastle University.
Wellington Rotary Club wishes all three winners every success in their studies.
