New College students rock Telford Shopping Centre

Categories: Press Releases

This is the fourth in a series of six music events during July - where New College musicians are performing for the public to mark the end of their academic year.

Jo Adlington, Course Leader said: “The students played an acoustic set without drums to provide a relaxing musical backdrop to shoppers’ visits. We wanted to avoid overwhelming people with something too intense for the centre during the day. It worked well with lots of people stopping by to listen and chill out.”

The Level 2 Diploma Music students performing were from left to right Liam Broome, Ashley Major, Simon France (technician), James Revitt, Tom Jones, Dan Braiden, Course Leader Jo Adlington and Mike Lowe.

Jo Adlington, Course Leader continued: “The students put on a great show for visitors. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback during the day and one of our student musicians has already had another booking from today’s gig.”

Telford Shopping Centre is a thriving shopping complex that is home to 160 outlets ranging from high street fashion to a wide range of places to eat.

The Level 2 Diploma Music course at New College is a 1 year vocational course - equivalent to 4 GCSEs.
