NEW COLLEGE TELFORD student chosen by local author to illustrate new children’s book

The book published by Pengridion Books and titled ‘Hawke and Co: The New Neighbours’ is aimed at boys aged 8-11years old and is based around three characters, Hawke, Sebastian and Spike. Natalie was commissioned to illustrate the three characters throughout the book and the main front cover image.
Student Natalie commented: “I want to make a career out of illustration and I am studying A Level graphic communication at New College, I was so excited to hear my illustration had been chosen for the book as this will be great experience for me.”
Author Catherine Cooper added: “We had a lot of people who applied for the brief and twenty nine submitted their work. We had a short list of five and gave Natalie the first option since we thought her work was head and shoulders above everyone else's. This experience will help towards her portfolio when she’s ready to apply for jobs at the end of her college course.”
The book is being published in January. Natalie has been commissioned to illustrate the complete Hawke & Co series, over the next two years, for Pengridion Books.
